Description

While Mars is rapidly approaching its closest position to Earth, the gas planets are receding but still large enough for photography. While in the early evening you need to hurry for the gas planets moving low westwards, Mars grants you two more hours until reaching a favorable elevation. Reflecting in improved image quality, the atmospheric condition was slightly better than the days before allowing the use of a 3x barlow at FL=2250mm, the maximum reasonable magnification for a 6-inch mirror before the image gets pale because of lack of contrast. Yet, to date my best planet images with single RGB shots. The coming days will be off AP as another typhoon is coming about. (just finished planting winter vegetables).
