Bonjour

Voici une de mes images préférées de la Lune , il s'agit du Cratère Eratosthene et d'une partie des Apenins dans l'ombre du Terminator... Ce que j'aime dans cette image , c'est cette gueule béante du cratère dans la nuit complète d'où l'on ne sait quelle créature monstrueuse pourrait sortir .... Entre un paysage du Mordor ou de Star Wars , je ne saurais choisir ..

la vidéo a été faite au Mak180 équipé de la barlow Antarès 1.6 avec un seeing de 5/5 et peu de turbulance au sol le 20 Avril dernier , 8ème jour de la Lune à 50% .

Here is one of my favorite images of the Moon, it's Eratosthene Crater and part of the Apenines in the shadow of the Terminator ... What I like about this image is that gaping mouth of the crater in the complete night from which one does not know which monstrous creature could emerge .... Between a landscape of Mordor or Star Wars, I could not choose ..

the video was made on the Mak180 equipped with the Antarès 1.6 barlow with a seeing of 5/5 and little turbulance on the ground on April 20, 8th day of the Moon at 50%.

Submitted The date and time when you submitted this image for IOTD/TP consideration.	...
Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
