Description

Rima Hyginus is one of the most curious lunar formations. Hyginus crater divides this 220 km long groove into two uneven parts. It is about 2 to 3 km wide and its depth does not exceed a few hundred meters.

The part extending from Hyginus crater to the northwest metamorphoses in places into a chain of small craters attached to each other.

I find this view also amazing in terms of aesthetics. I feel like I'm contemplating a modern painting with this black-and-white contrast game and the sensation of a central tear in the image. On the other hand, there is a movement starting from the top of the image and descending to the right, materialized by a very dark relief.

To capture this formation and in particular highlight these curious small craters, I had to increase the primary focal length that I usually use to pass to more than 4 m but also the acquisition speed image to 72 fps in order to limit a little more the effects of turbulence.
