Description

NGC 3511 in Crater is an intermediate spiral galaxy located 45,000,000 light-years away in the southern constellation of Crater. Appearing at lower-right, it was discovered in 1786 by William Herschel, and is about 70,000 light-years across. At upper-left is the face-on SBc spiral, NGC 3513, gravitationally related to 3511.
