Description

NGC253 is an intermediate spiral galaxy located approx 13 million light years away in the constellation Sculptor. It is known as a starburst galaxy because it is undergoing very high rates of star formation.
This is probably not the ideal telescope for imaging galaxies but I thought I'd get a more "wide field" shot of this galaxy at 840mm focal length. Previously I imaged NGC253 with the 10inch Meade where the galaxy filled the field of view.
This is an HaRGB image. I did not capture any data with my luminance filter as this galaxy is very bright so I extracted a luminance layer from the combined colour colour data instead.
