Description

WHTZ-1 was first discovered by Ronald Weinberger, Herbert Hartl, Sonia Temporin and Caterina Zanin in 1999. It is also sometimes referred to as We5-1. It was later independently discovered by Thierry Raffaelli in 2014 (Ra-7) as well as by Deep Space Hunter members Dana Patchick and Matthias Kronberger. It has a size of 2.3 arcmin and is quite strong in Oiii. Palette is a Dynamic HOO, recombined in LRGB with Oiii as Lum. Separate RGB for stars.

Data gathered in collaboration with my good friend and mentor @Peter Goodhew. Image processing made by me.

Rarely photographed we do believe this to be a first one Astrobin. The only previously published image we know of is from Chart32, a 80cm f/7 Astrooptik Keller Cassegrain in Chile.
