Description

"Lagoon Nebula Region"
- Widefield 250mm LRGB-HOO
- Area Constellation Sagittarius

The Lagoon Nebula (also designated Messier 8 or NGC 6523) is a composition of emission and reflection nebulae with a magnitude of 6.0 and an angular extent of about 90′ × 35′ in the constellation Sagittarius. It is about 5200 light-years from the sun.
Recorded with an astro-modified EOS-R, UVIRCUT LP2 astronomical filter for RGB and narrow-band filter DuoNB from STC, as optics the RedCat 51 with 250mm. A mosaic of 5 tiles, with four panels for the image field, and a central panel in which all lights from all panels have been stacked. A total of 130x 180s Lights RGB at ISO800 and 36x 1200s Lights DuoNB with ISO1600, all at f/5, for the center panel .

Conditions for registration:
Mostly clear nights, from time to time a veil of clouds. Right out of town at Bortle 7 skies and significant light pollution. Recording period July to October 2021 & 2022.

And another rework from the series, the universe at 250mm - I love my RedCat!
This series of recordings lasted more than a year - and as a 5 panel mosaic it is also one of the more complex projects I have started. The aim is about twice the exposure time that I have collected so far.
