ED80 setup

Description

I bought Sky-Watcher ED80 a long time ago in 2014. Since that time I started seriously practice in astrophotography. Before that I played just with misc lenses on tracked mount.

BTW short refractor ended up for me as ideal start for beginner in the AP.

I got a scope with replace stock focuser what and automated it with stepper motor and DIY ASCOM compliant controller.

Monochrome camera Atik 383L+ equipped with 7x36mm Atik EWF2 is used as primary imager.

Lodestar X2 on OAG is used for guiding. There is opinion that OAG is not worth on the short focal length scope, but my practice say opposite. I had eccentric stars during long sub exposures in narrowband event with ideal guiding. Switching from standalone guider to OAG magically fixed that (I guess there is flexure in focuser what caused that).

Kendrick heater wrapped around tube to protect from then on front lens.

Setup has 2°x1.5° FOV with 2.14"/pixel resolution what is equal to the 520 mm FL.

SGP software is used for session automation.
