Description

During 2021 I was a patron of the Insight observatory, which gave me the option of obtaining some images monthly, I opted for NGC 1999 the Pearl Nebula, the lights of this field have spent a long time stored on my computer until I have decided to process them.

Now we go with a little information about this nebula that is near M42, although the image covers a larger field NGC 1999 is the small whitish nebula that is wrapped in dust and gas in the upper right part In the image, the brightest star that gives NGC 1999 its pearly appearance is V380 Orionis, a young star 3.5 times the mass of our Sun. It appears white due to its high surface temperature of about 10,000ºC, almost twice that of the Sun.
