Description

NGC 6188 is an emission nebula located about 4,000 light years away in the constellation Ara. The bright open cluster NGC 6193, visible to the naked eye, is responsible for a region of reflection nebulosity within NGC 6188. A couple of rare clear nights and fairly well placed object with good seeing allowed me to get 28 10 minutes subs in OIII over two nights. I wanted to see what improvement going deeper would deliver over than my usual 5 minutes to optimize dithering . I love OIII for the depth of detail. So much easier than messing with the Hubble Palette so I parked the HA and SII subs and stuck with OIII and used Drizzle integration (yawn).
