Description

After a couple of years researching and surveying the landscape, I have finally taken the plunge of upgrading my imaging filters, landing with Chroma. I originally ordered Astrodons, but navigated across to Chroma after waiting 3 months ... which seemed an eternity.

This is my first narrowband imaging attempt using the Chroma filters, so quite exciting for me! The Chroma OIII seems to handle bright stars much better than my previous Baader. I've used the Hubble SHO palette, with an enhanced contrast version of Ha re-applied as luminance to tease out details.

Have left RGB stars out for now, as I'm still learning how to blend these in without ringing artefacts. Hoping there might be a special incantation to help with that, as matching all star sizes between the RGB/SHO images and getting star mask sizing/softness just right seems to be a dark art!

Have not done much NB imaging, so enjoying the learning journey.

Thanks for looking!
