Description

This extremely faint supernova remnant, which covers a wide field of sky in Auriga, was imaged over six nights in early September. The nebula was captured with an ASI2600mm Pro and ZWO 36mm filters through a RedCat 51 1x on an EQ6-R Pro mount.

The image comprises:

Ha:       66 x 600s
OIII:     67 x 600s

Total Exposure time was 22 hours and 10 minutes. The mage was processed in Pixinsight and Photoshop.

This nebula was extremely faint and took a lot of exposure time to draw out - even in Arizona's dark, clear skies. I would never have tried to capture this target back in New York. The RedCat's generous FOV was just sufficient (in combination with the ASI2600's big chip) to accommodate the whole nebula.
