Description

This Spiral Galaxy in the constellation Ursa Major, is about half the size of our galaxy and with a distance estimate of 47 million light years.

This galaxy has played a part in this astronomical distance undertaking by allowing astronomers to calibrate astronomical distance measurements based on it's variable Cepheid.

The galaxy is 86,200 light years in diameter.
