Description

Browsing for more galaxies near Markab using SkySafari, I ran across the pair NGC 7469 and IC 5283, which form Arp 298. NGC 7469 is one of the most-studied Seyfert galaxies and has a fainter oval disk around its bright core. IC 5283 has a short faint tail stretching out to toward to upper right in this image.

The Hubble Space Telescope took an image of this pair of galaxies, and I am amazed that I can spot some of the background galaxies that are obvious in the Hubble image. Particular, in my image there is a tiny galaxy to the upper left of IC 5283, another just left of the star to the left of NGC 7469, and then another much fainter one just below NGC 7469 that is almost, but not quite, imperceptible.
