Description

Here we have M46, a very nice open cluster in Puppis. I find this one to be a little more interesting than the average open cluster because there are two very nice planetary nebulae in the field of view. We have NGC 2438 which is quite apparent in the center of the FOV but also, to the right of it you will find a much smaller PN which, I have learned, is PK231+41. I have read a little about these two PNs and the consensus is that they are not related to M46. M46 lies about 4,900 ly distant and contains approximately 500 members.

As always, comments and criticism encouraged!

Description: This image is not one of my better images. But I have been considering how I do my color balance and decided to attempt to better this one in that regard. Also, as suggested by my friend Gabriel (Ofiuco), I added some annotation for the two planetary nebulae.
