Description

This object is a globular cluster located 25,000 light years away in the southern constellation of Sagittarius at a declination of -30 degrees. The cluster spans 9 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a diameter of 65 light years.

This object, when combined with the dense starfield background of Sagittarius, make for a beautiful pairing. I especially like how the larger bright blue stars in the starfield offset the many small orange ones.
