Description

Jupiter before dawn on Wed 15 Apr 2020 AEST.

Photographed GRS transit under moderate seeing conditions on a relatively mild morning compared to previous night (minimum of around 8 degrees). There was quite a lot of high level cloud/fog around which impacted exposure and made final colour balancing more challenging. Last Quarter Moon was only 3 degrees away from the planet.

This view combines just under 8,500 best frames taken between 3:58 and 4:09 am Canberra time, a total derotation interval of 11 minutes. Complex region of turbulence is seen north west of the GRS while Oval BA and the South Polar Red Spot have just emerged on the F limb.
