Description

This is my first color image with a mono camera. I used Halpha for the luminance and R channel, SII as G and OIII as B channel. Postprocessing was with rawtherapee, mainly to emphasize the dark clouds, to enhance color a little bit and to apply some smoothing.

My primary image processing tool siril for linux doesnt offer too many options for RGB processing. I tried to create false color images with the hubble palette, but with bad results. Thats why I kind of reverted to a standard Halpha/red color scheme. It looks very much like images with my Canon EOS R with an UHC filter.

This is also the first image taken with my camera tilting unit. It took me two nights to adjust the tilt for optimal results. So may be this image is as good as it can get. But there is some significant distortion of stars in some parts of the image. Partly it looks like coma, which is not supposed to happen for an E130. So I am not entirely happy with it and have no idea where it is coming from. On the other hand, the ASI 6200MM has a very small pixel size of 3.76um. It is very revealing and sensitive to smallest abberations, so maybe I shouldnt bother too much.

Description: This is a new version of the image. I found that many of the OIII images were slightly out of focus and have escaped my attention. They are now removed and also I tried slightly different postprocessing in RawTherapee
