Description

This was my first attempt with my Tamron 150-600 G2 lens. I attempted guiding with a ZWO 30mm guide scope and an ASI 120mm S guide camera but was unable to get focused. I had to do a meridian flip so I went unguided until the flip and looked up how to focus the guide camera while it was imaging unguided.

After the flip I got back on Polaris, focused the guide camera, polar aligned with SharpCap Pro, and got guiding set to excellent to good in PHD2. I continued imaging for a couple more hours. All total I got 44 frames at 180 seconds.

However, I'm not sure what happened but when blinking through the images in PixInsight I noticed that the targets were moving slightly between frames. There was no evidence of movement or star trails in an individual frame though. Nevertheless I was not able to get more than 17 images to register so this is only 51 minutes of integration time.

Overall I am still very pleased with what I was able to get with such a few number of frames, this lens, and on that mount.
