Description

Hello friends,

once again a DS object. NGC 5394/95 (aka Heron Galaxy) is a very small object but very interesting. It is only 2.7 arcmin at max size. This is even for the CDK14 quite small. The distance is about 160 -180 Mio LY. Interesting is also that NGC 5394/95 do interact.

I also checked, whether this galaxy is imaged often, but only found relatively few images on AB. so I thought it is good choice..

The data was taken during 3 nights with bright moon light close to it. I had almost no SNR due to the bright background. Actually the data is really poor, but there wont be any clear night to finalize this project in near future. So I decided to take what I have.

I have also kept these by far too big FOV since there are lot of nice small features around. You will find tons of galaxies and other structures. Also the stars really embed the galaxies nicely. So I decided for this particular image to keep the bigger field.

Please enjoy!

Rüdiger
