Is there any way to do a massive deletion? It is very tedious to delete image by image. I would like to reupload a lot of my images but there are a ton that I do not want to bother uploading as the data was from my DSLR Days and I no longer have it.

Thanks,

Chris Gomez

Hi Chris, no, unfortunately there is no bulk delete functionality. If you want to delete all your corrupted images, I can do it for you. Or if you send me a list of image ids (the random numbers/letters in the URL of the image page).

Well, I have uploaded everything from the past 5 years and before that there is a point of diminishing returns with the quality of the images and processing.  I think I will stop for the time being and declare success.

At the end of the day seems I have lost only 4  images from that time period… luck plus compulsivity.  The 4 in question are Sh2 images and will add them back into the list in Expert Scheduler…. eventually they will come around again.

My first image from May 2012 is still there:

Funny it has 200 looks and zero (0) thumbs up… wonder why?

I am embarrassed by the processing of many of my earlier images despite some good data with a Tak 180ED.  Looks more collumated than when I started perfecting things.

Luckily it looks like I started processing with PixInsight around 2014 and retained the working folders, so I think I can read them into the current version of PixInsight and use a more modern workflow on them…. we will see…. boy were those colors horrible!

I have just come into a copy of 3D LUT (3d Look Up Tables for color transformations/remapping).  These images might be a good learning challenge.

SALVATORE

Please delete my entire staging area, and save me the effort of doing it image by image.  Thanks.

Hi guys,

I know this is a long shot, but what about searching on the web archive time machine here to see if maybe it had taken a copy of your images for people who have lost their copies? - https://archive.org/

You mentioned you "shoulda woulda coulda" hired a consultant to ensure your systems and back-ups are proper.  i agree, but this is not the first catastrophic data loss on this site.  Before I spend the time to hunt down my old photos,  have you in fact now hired such a consultant to provide assurance that this site is professionally set up, backed up and as much as is reasonably possible guarantee there won't be another data loss?

Hi Larry, this is the first "catastrophic" data loss. There was once a 12-hour data loss from the database that I could restore back. I wouldn't call it catastrophic.

I am talking to a couple of guys regarding getting expert advice regarding my configuration. I want to do it next week. I will update when it's done.

Hello Salvatore,

Today i got your mail about the new accountprices and accountversions.
In the same time i read about a data loss.

I have checked my account and found out, that all my uploaded images are gone.

Congratulations!

I dont see a reason to spend more money to you. I wont spent any second to find my further uploaded images and reupload them again.

Astrobin was used as a safe for my best images. Do you really believe that i will trust you again?
Fortunately it where only be images.

I feel really slapped in the face, that you dare now to want more money in the future for this….

Unbelievable!
