|I think Astrobin is legit enough to have an annual party to give out astrophotgrapher of the year awards. I won't ever win any, but I know how to party. It would be tight and grow the science.|

|How would you propose that it be paid for?|

Tim OstromekI can't find sponsors to run AstroBin, let alone run a party!
Jokes aside, I would love to facilitate this, but I cannot be in charge: as long as I'm heavily time limited with working on AstroBin, I need to work on the website rather than side activities.
I would love if some people volunteered as community managers to handle stuff like this!

Arun, we can sell tickets. I think most astrophotographers have some scratch or they wouldnt have a 10k set up for taking pictures of stars.
For example we have a convention in Colorado or Vegas, all the retailers have booths. People can trade/sale equipment. Smart people can speak. Let's get a group together and brainstorm. Anyone can private message me. We could non profit this all day. STEM angle to it, probably even get a grant if we help kiddos learn about stars.
I am sure people can come up with great ideas, and everyone can have a blast.

Salvatore IoveneSalvatore you have gone above and beyond and your site is so bad ass. I think people want to meet you and say thanks and buy you a beer.Tim OstromekI can't find sponsors to run AstroBin, let alone run a party!

Assuming this got off the ground, in which country would it be held?|
