New subjetct type "Northern lights"

27 Oct, 2016 18:14
If possible, there should be a new image subject type  Northern lights or Aurora Borealis.
At the moment, it is a bit difficult to assign the pictures to a reasonable type.
If "other" is used, you can not enter technical data.
If  "wide field" is used, an unnecessary and long-running astrometry job is started.
See for example:
It's already 2 weeks old, but the astrometry job is still running.
The best settings would be almost the same as for Startrails. (I'm using it for the moment.)
On the occasion it would be good, if there was a field to enter the used lens aperture. (For all images made with photo lens: Startrails, extremly wide field, Northern lights.)

Thanks in advance.

Here is another suggestion, how about just unify "northern light" and "star trail" to "nightscape?"  It includes both, and also include some shorter exposures where stars have not developed "trails" yet.

What about images south of the equator .. will there be a 'southern lights' as well?
