I am having this issue with my RASA/ASI 294C rig where any semi-bright object is getting a large halo around it. It appears to be a reflection of the mirror as you can clearly see the power and USB cable going to the camera. It occurs with both my 2 " IDAS and my 2" Optolong UV/IR Cut Filters|
The imaging train consist of the following, from the corrector plate to the camera in this order:
RASA Camera Adaptor
20mm Starizona RASA Spacer
Starizona Filter Slider
ZWO ASI 294C
Here is an example in my latest image:

I also have noticed reflections on some stars (52 Cyg for example) with a RASA8, Starizona Filter drawer, ZWO ASI183MM and Baader High Speed OIII filter (but not the Ha or SII). Couple other filters as well, but only if they pass blue/green.
I have no reflections with the RASA8 + neitherASI294MC or ASI183MM, using a generic spacer and the Celestron LP filter.
No clue where the culprit is so far, but I always managed to reduce it in post (usually masks+curves and by taking Lum from Ha)

|Brilliant image, Bob! Seriously, it's fine, if you hadn't pointed it out, I'd say pretty much nobody would have ever noticed it.|

Thanks Mark much appreciated.|
In this particular image the halos are faint ,but never the less they are there. I feel that it would be a great image if they weren't. I have plenty of images that I simply just can't use as the halos are so bad that they are all your eye is drawn to. I am looking for info that any one might have to know the cause of it so maybe I can rectify it. Otherwise I have to choose my targets that have no bright stars.
Here are better examples of my problem. Please ignore the noise in the Shark Nebula as that was a completely different issue. These have had no processing done to them other integration and stretched. The Shark Nebula was shot with my 294C and the Pelican was shot with my ASI 1600MC with a Baader F/2 O3 filter. All other components in the imaging train are the same.

Benny ColynThanks Benny for the input. I have added some better examples in my reply to the post. See above…
