15 July 2018 - The Comet 21P Giacobini Zinner will pass between the star 21 Cep and the open cluster NGC 7235

Hello everyone! I was following the path of the Comet 21P Giacobini Zinner on Stellarium and I've noticed that the night of July 15 (CET), it will pass right between the star 21 Cep (Mag 3.35) and the open cluster NGC 7235. A FOV of at least 0.7 degrees is required to image the comet and the cluster and a FOV of at least 1 degree is required to image the comet, the cluster and the star. Since I've only 0.5 degrees FOV with my RC, I will not attempt to capture it and I'm sharing the info in case anyone would like to try it .

Clear skies,

Hello Andreas, thanks for the hint. I did it yesterday but I will try this night as well. Let's see how it goes.

I will retry also. My first attempt yesterday night was my first attempt on any comet ever, so the picture is really bad. but i have learned a lot and hope, that this evening things will work better.

I've managed to take 10x60s exposures on the comet and area of Cepheus. The result is on my profile.
