About one year ago I tried to imagine NGC 5963 and NGC 5965 in Draco from my crappy Bortle 6 sky (when I'm lucky). Here's the result: |
This subject won an Apod 7 years ago: https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap120216.html
And if you search these galaxies here in AB there are just eight pictures… Eight!!! So you guys with the Darkest Skies, The Sturdiest Mounts and the Beastiest Scopes why don't you do something about it? Then, if you win the IOTD you offer me a drink.
Anyway sorry for my tone, I am joking… and I am not.

Not a challenge at all! It is truly a target worth many more pictures than just 8. There's an edge on galaxy, a spiral galaxy with a beautiful core and color and there's another galaxy NGC 5971 with a tidal stream (not visible in my picture). I would like to see some pictures from a dark site.

I gave it a try, see here: NGC 5963/5965
Not enough time to come near to an IOTD ,at least I'm first

I like it! …. And I'm sorry to disappoint you but I think Gary Imm made one before you Anyway they're are both very nice. I think i'll review mine and make the spiral look more natural without pushing levels too much.
