I today saw that Antlia has created a new version of the ALP-T Filter that is suitable for f2.2 optics, and it is already available @ my preferred dealer.
On paper it looks like a perfect match for my brand new Starizona 9.25“ Hyperstar, anybody out there already has some first hand experience?

Especially a comparison to the Ha/Oiii fast filters from Baader would be nice.

Hi Michael,
I have the Antlia dual band golden filter and my version works very well at F2, both on the RASA 8 and with my 135mm F2 Samyang lens.
I do not have the Baader filters to compare (sorry)
Examples here,

Results look quite good, I would have thought that the bandshift kills more of the signal.

I saw you also used the IDAS NBZ with your RASA, did you by chance compare the ALP-T golden Results on the RASA with the NBZ?

I would say the Antlia filter has more contrast than NBZ (most likely due to the narrower bandpass)
As far as signal goes they both appear to be the same on the targets I have taken.
I will do a direct comparison next time I get a clear night!!! maybe this weekend.
Will post when done.

Same auto stretch.jpgCompared the IDAS NBZ vs Antlia Golden at F2 (RASA8), NBZ defiantly passes a bit more light and controls halos very well. Antlia not bad but showed an odd red circle in the image which I have not seen on other images taken with this filter.
Could be the fact I was using the ZWO 183 mc pro with the Starizona filter drawer for the first time the RASA.
Images are stretched the same and have only been de Bayer nothing else, single frame 60 sec subs. (no flats ,darks or bias)
My take is if I wanted a filter just for F2 systems and the light pollution was not extreme I would choose the IDAS.

I see Antlia has a new version of the ALP-T filter for fast F ratios.
"Antlia FAST ALP-T Golden Dual Bandfilter is specifically designed for astrophotography with colour DSLR, CMOS or CCD cameras with fast focal ratios between f/2.2 and f/3.6"

I did order the new fast version of the ALP-T filter and it arrived a few days ago. When skies clear up (whenever that will be) I will post a comparison between the Baader fast filters and the two ALP-T Filters.
Thank you for your results!

Hi Michael, I realised I missread your first post on this topic and you were referring to a new version of the ALP-T filter specifically designed for faster systems.
I had no idea they had released a new version.
My test shots were with the original ALP-T filter which I had only just aquired, so I apologise for wasting yours and others time.

Nope, you are not wasting (my) time, your comparison helped me to make my mind up about buying the fast ALP-T filter.
