For anyone interested I am happy to share my data (any image acquired at FOVO) and trade for same target or even new targets.
Not a common practice I am aware but why not?!  Always fun to look at items I have yet seen.  Or to add data to targets I have for improved quality.
Over to you guys - drop my a line if interested.

Thinking about it - not a dissimilar concept to public data pools.  But rather than just offering out to all it promotes data trading approach.

You could just change your default license to a Creative Commons license ... but that gives only access to the final image and not to the raw files

I would be interested to trade my raw files.

We can already trade the raw files using the Raw Data platform (the free plan should be enough!) And then use the forums for the coordination.

Yeah I thought about that after as you can see - however space and usability is an issue.  I have been advised of a few private shares that have never been visible to me.

I think co-ordinating via the forums is a good start - how we access/share the data can be at our discretion, the shared Raw Data  location/function would need some work or just better promotion.  Might be that its just not being used effectively.  Additionally the 'free' space is limiting for such projects - from memory I loaded a fairly low sub count image to the raw data tool and that consumed 1/2 my space.  With cloud storage affordable I have no issue arranging own data as well as using raw data tool.  Ultimately all images will end up on AB

Perhaps this is an Opportunity for a "Premium" Perk for Additional Raw Data Storage Space.

OR...

A small additional Fee atop the coming Premium Fee (to defray Storage and Bandwidth Costs) for "Membership" to a "Raw Data Sharing Club".  That Membership could also involve Acceptance of whatever "Data Usage" or "Data Attribution" rules were seen as Prudent . And that Membership could request a few Software Tweaks that might not be needed by the general AstroBin Userbase.

Would I immediately "Pay Up" to become a "Member"??  Probably not at first - I've still a backlog of Personal Images that need a 2nd/3rd Effort at Image Processing.  But it would be tantalizing, as I foresee a "Data Drought" on my horizon as personal commitments change.

Well rather than just talk the talk

I will lead the way (link also to cut and paste if you have issue with hyperlink)

https://patrickgilliland.livedrive.com/item/182f692e6bc24b32b903a72ea0ab12f4

You can find most of the data from my SHO NGC 7822 ( seem to have an evenings data missing) - I will allow anyone to process, please provide credit for data collection on your post.  (It is in XISF format let me know if this proves to be an issue for anyone.)

But I would rather people who are working on the same target share their data (- for now this is a public folder so it is being entrusted to you.  If misused I will remove.)
If you want to collaborate create a folder and at your calibrated subs into a folder with your name so that credit can be provided.  Let's see how it goes.

Hello Patrick,
Not everybody uses Pix Insight ( I think that is where the XISF format comes from), for general Astrobin users would it be better to use a more common format like TIF.

I get this:

by following your link, Paddy. Any suggestions? Do I have to sign up for livedrive to see you data? Thanks!
