Hi all I stumbled upon these vintage astrophotos from Mount Wilson.  https://www.gadcollection.com/en/70-deep-space It is astonishing to know today that when these photos were taken, nobody knew for sure, whether the Milky Way was the whole Universe. Especially the picture showing M81 should have settled that once and for all. Clear skies  |

Fantastic to look back isn't it? I have had the good fortune to observe with the 60" and 100" at Mount Wilson. I am always struck by the greats that graced those instruments, and how they laid the foundation for our understanding of the universe. Thanks for the post! Regards, Dave |
