Hi
For having the best result of photographing the moon and planets with the 8-inch Celestron XLT or 8-inch Vixen VC200L telescopes. Which of these cameras are better in your opinion?

Hi Khosro,

From these 3 cameras I think 174MM is better for Lunar imaging. For planets 462MC or 290MM with 2.9 micron pixel are the best.

Looks like oversized 462C for me with little a bit lower QE in near-IR.

Hello Khosro!

The ASI290MC which you already own is great for planets which you can image only for a limited time in a year.

The large pixels of the ASI74MM are attractive for the Moon but when you consider economy, the ASI290MM is the
diplomatic choice. From own experience I can vouch for the ASI290MM, or QHY's version. It is not only good for
lunar images but is also a fine autoguide camera. The QHY5III485C and ASI462MC are currently available in color only.
Based on the assumption that you prefer a monochrome camera.

If you pefer a color camera, I would go for the QHY5III485C. It has 4 times the field of view of your ASI290MC which
maybe nice for telescopes with long native focal length such as yours. For the Moon you could bin 2x2 to get 5.8µm
pixels at 1920x1080 resolution and faster frame rate. It also appears to have a good Near-IR response. Sorry, I have
no practical experience with this new model.
