Hey guys!
I’m planning to modify my canon6D and i was looking into the Baader BCF filter but it seems like it’s out of production and out of stock. I don't want to use clip in filters as i already own one and it creates coma on my canon 250D which is APS C size sensor so i can imagine what its like on a full frame sensor.
are there any similar products that do the same job as the Baader BCF filter?
thanks in advance!

I find it weird they create coma as none of of mine ever did/does/will do, even of fast lenses. But there you go...
As far as I can see it is still available on ebay.

thanks in advance! A flat filter won't create coma so I'm not sure what that's about.

Of course it does, but in very small amounts for typical FOVs and for typical f/ratios.

If you want to use your Canon 6D for telescopes, try this.
Teleskop-Express- Baader Protective T-Ring for Canon EOS - use with 2- and 50.4 mm filters-BA2958550
I have seen people create great results with unmodified Nikon and Canon 6D with 12 nm Filters so maybe you should consider saving that money on modifying your 6D I have Canon 6D unmodified and BAARDERS T-Ring and will test with Astronomik 12 nm filters.
I think it's probably not a quick fix, so you have to expect long exposure times.

thanks in advance! A flat filter won't create coma so I'm not sure what that's about. Astronomik even sells filters that, they claim, have reduced coma so it is a thing, and i have definitely experienced this myself. I could provide samples if you want as well as soon as the skies clear. Here is a link to said filters: https://www.astronomik.com/en/clip-filter/xt-clip-filter.html |

To be clear: the effect shown is NOT coma, it's astigmatism or more specifically astigmatic field curvature. As for the mod you only need to remove one of the two filters, the UV/IR Cut one (that is the one NOT attached to the piezo-electric vibrator) and move the whole sensor assy forward by 0.21 mm (if you want to retain compatibility with EF lenses) and you are done. My experience with replacement filters isn't that good and tend to produce onion-ring effects on bright stars when not IR leaks.
