Ok, I finally got the optolong clip-in filter for my ff camera (canon 6d) and I have a really stupid question, but it's been bugging me for quite some time. (I apologize in advance for my bad translation ahead)
When installing, you lock the mirror, insert the filter itself, and then turn off the lock. Because of this, the mirror goes down, rests against the filter and presses it slightly, holding it in place. Question: is there any possibility that with prolonged use this "forced lock" can damage the camera? Most likely, this is just my paranoia, but I want to sleep peacefully.
And yes, I guess that using the standard shooting mode is a bad idea (due to the constant movement of the mirror), but if I'm wrong - please correct me. Thanks in advance!

This says nothing about the mirror holding the filter in place. It does that on it's own. I would think that you would want the mirror locked when shooting to reduce vibration.

BTW, it's a Full Frame camera, see (and, no it should NOT be held on by the mirror): Optolong Camera Clips Compatible List-Optolong Optics Co.,Ltd.

Guess there's some misunderstanding, which is totally my folt. Out of pure anxiety I accidentally picked wrong topic. For protocol: I'm speaking of Optolong UHC EOS-FF, dedicated full frame clip-in filter.

Same thing: you wouldn't want the mirror to touch the clip-in filter, like ever. One thing though: you mentioned you raised the mirror to install the clip-in filter but normally you wouldn't need to and I don't when I use mine.

Thanks for the reply! Strange that you said that you don't need to rase the mirror for installation, as far as I can tell you need to do that
