Hello: I am using an Orion Starshoot Autoguider . Since Orion has gone out of business it seems impossible to find the SSAGASCOM.exe driver for this camera online. I was wondering if anyone has a link to a website that has this driver available or if anyone has a copy of this driver they are willing to share. I am specifically looking for the SSAGASCOM.exe V4 TIA |

Try this from the Way Back Machine. On the right hand side of the page are links to the drivers. Product Support - Orion StarShoot AutoGuider (archive.org) Good luck, Ron |

I have that camera in my astro case lying around somewhere. I am sorry to say that it is no longer supported by PHD2 guiding and the driver has aged to a point it is near useless. I would sincerely consider buying a new guide camera such as the tiny cheap ZWO asi 120 and make your life much easier. That said, if you still want to go that route, try the ascom driver another user posted above and forget the windows native driver. |

I use this guider every time I image. Looking in my directory I have two files that might be of interest: SSAGdrvfull5.1 and SSAGASCOMSetup. They are both applications. |

@Frank Fallows I'm still using my SSAG and have been for a couple years with PHD2, unfortunately I only have the v5.1 of the drivers. If you want to try this version let me know and I'll give you a temp link to download it. |

Hello again. I would like to be more precise about PHD2 and the SSAG. You will still be able to use the native driver up to version 2.6.13. Unfortunately, PHD2 has removed support for the SSAG in 2.6.13 dev1 and will not continue to support the camera thereafter. Please check here: https://openphdguiding.org/development-snapshots/The exact statement is:"v2.6.13dev1, 27 December 2023: Windows: remove cameras with obsolete SDKs: Fishcamp, Meade-DSI, SAC4-2, SSAG. To use these cameras, stick with an older version of PHD2."That said, I have tested the ASCOM driver and it is still somewhat operational in v2.6.13dev5. However, it will crash every once in a while, which is enough for me to pull the plug on it.. |

Thanks for all the replies on this topic. I already have and use the drivers mentioned , and they work pretty well with the occasional crash. I will continue to use my starshoot for the time being and most likely purchase a newer supported camera as suggested. The ZWO ASI 120 ($200.00 Canadian) is cheaper than buying an orion starshoot selling @ $440.95 CAD still. Ridiculous price for an outdated camera. We can consider this topic closed Thanks: Freewheelin |
