Nick Grundy:
I think I still might try out Voyager, although the pricetag is a bit high for just experimenting.

Hi Nick

Voyager is a great software though the learning curve is a bit more steeper than NINA. I had purchased it when I was dual mounted and wanted synchronised dithering. Just my luck that NINA introduced synchronised dithering within a couple of months after i purchased Voyager license and i moved back to NINA because how easy it is to use.
I believe Voyager has a 30 day trial license. You could try it out before deciding if you want to buy it.
Personally though, NINA has been amazing all these years that I have been using it and the community they have build around it is extremely supportive. PLUS it can do everything that every other software in the market can do at zero cost. I honestly would buy the software if they ever add a price to it...even if it costs as much as Voyager. And even though it is free, I still support them with a monthly contribution - a small way of extending my thanks to the amazing work they are doing.

all, thanks so much for your help. I'm now running my nina sequence. Guiding looks great. I followed the plan as I noted, but also looked up this youtube for some additional tsx guidance which helped on the horizon and such https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pbgJ24_01I

*** Glad you got everything going. I doubt that old discussion was me but you never know. Yes reverse Dec after meridian flip is what you want for the MyT however it is worded in the software.***

All, happy to report back things are working much better now. Getting comfortable within TSX was probably the biggest hurdle, as well as the various settings on the ascom driver for TSX.

I've got 2 current issues i'm tracking down if anyone can help:
  • Eccentricity is high. I've tried mutliple OTA's but it always seems to be in the .5-.6 range. (I was getting .3-.4 on my cem70) I'm only done a Tpoint model of 100 and haven't done the PEC training yet. Otherwise PHD2 is dialed in. Would PEC training help? (and obvioulsly a larger t point model but i'm getting this ready to go remote instead of here with my small sky visibility)
  • 2nd park position. I generally park at the end of the evening with counterweight horizontal and scope point at the horizon. (seems to keep things out of the OTA?) But I always load/unload OTA in CW down position. In iOptron, that's zero position, but not sure how to auto-program that position in TSX. Thoughts?

thanks again to everyone for your help!
