Hello everyone,

I am moving to a rural town, and the nearest major light pollution is an hour from me. The light pollution is around Bortle 7 to the NW and everywhere else around me for about 3 hours is Bortle 2. I am just wanting to see what experience it will be like with data acquisition from this kind of sky. Also, what will processing broadband and narrowband be like since I am leavening Bortle 8 skies.

CS everybody,

Chris.

I just went over this forum post, and I sound like a five-year old rambling.

Congratulations on moving from Bortle 8 to Bortle 3   A quick look at your gallery shows you have been a member for 15 months and you have posted 76 images.  Of the 76 images you have 18 nominations for Top Pick, 11 Top Picks and one IOTD mostly processing from dark sky hosting sites and public data, all of which are usually from Bortle 0 to 3 skies. You have posted what looks like 3 to 4 images tagged as" backyard" from Bortle 8.

You have your own images in B-8 and you have already been processing dozens of images from at least B3 or better from some of the best dark sites all over the world, many in narrow band and some in broadband.

Being more specific in your inquiry would  help, and I understand that you have been Bortle 8, but seriously have you not noticed the differences in your own images and the images from every where else?  I am not sure what information you hope to gain from your post but I would suggest that just maybe the subs you acquire in your new move might be a bit little closer to the quality of the hosting and public images than your previous backyard acquisitions if only for the dark sky.
Maybe.

Good luck in your move.

This is why you should never post to a forum when you have been two days sleep deprived! I hope at least I made people laugh, because I sure did.
