Hi - I wondered if this might result in a useful thread...having just been out in the backyard, sinking some cheap, ornamental concrete slabs in my lawn to help with easy tripod placement and stability, I wonder what other people might have added to their kit/setup for, say, under 50 pounds/euros/bucks that improved their experience.
For me there's a set of Jiodux Plastic Ground Anchors and a length of bungee cord (to pre-load my tripod), a 3D printed fine-focus assistant (pic's in my gallery), a hotshoe adapter to mount a red dot finder on my Canon and a pair of pruning shears that have just helped enormously with polar alignment ;)  Clear Skies and I look forward to hear some other recommendations.

Clearly not as useful as I thought it might be.

A Bahtinov mask made from the glossy cover of a magazine and duct tape.

I am not using it any more because I focus electronically, but it was the best spent twenty minutes in 2019.

(It's a little squashed in the pic having just been retrieved from the drawer, wasn't like that when I was using it)

Love it! I spent longer on my first mask, being unsure how accurate was 'good enough' - a few hours with a scalpel and some plastic. The 'holder' was a lid of some kind, that just happened to fit my lens...I've got a new Bahtinov mask now, so ordered some Baader solar filter foil to repurpose the holder for some solar observation! 17B5EA54-7E39-4CC9-AAB1-01EA8A524392.jpeg

A little contribution,
Home-brewed solar objective filter with a Baader solar filter sheet sandwiched in between a Ø77mm-62mm step-down ring and a Ø77mm UV filter. The combination reduces the telescope's aperture from Ø71mm down to Ø62mm, which is no problem for basic solar imaging. Total cost about USD 15.00.

Three x's scraped into cement pad at barn for tripod feets, makes polar alignment super easy!

Pruning shears? Please explain.

I've been waiting till autumn to cut back proper on a cherry tree in my garden, that's partly obscuring Polaris - I had to perform a bit of astro-topiary and prune a hole into the canopy at just the right angle to be able to Polar align during summer...

On the same note - another cheap solution to add: a few clothing pegs and rubber bands to temporarily restrain the branches of an apple tree in my neighbours' garden, resulting in an extra hour on the Orion Nebula
