Hello. I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there who will be able to assist me in identifying the bright object in the image I am sharing. This is my first try at processing astro pictures but I just cant seem to pin point this object. It is situated above the Ursa Major constellation and was taken in the early hours of the 16th of May.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Aaron

It seems that Astrobin has not plate solved your image. Did you set the image type to "Deep Sky or field" in the Basic info about the image? If you do this, I think it will get plate solved and that should help. If you alreaday did this, I guess the plate solving didn't work.

Since the restructuring of the plans (Free/Lite/Premium/Ultimate) plate-solving is not available anymore to users on Free.

Regarding plate solving, if you want your image plate solved to see where on the sky it is, and what objects there are in it, you can upload your image to the free service at https://nova.astrometry.net/.
You can also find several free softwares packages that has plate solving functionality, one such software is called ASTAP can be found at:
