Hello Everyone,

Growing up under mostly cloudy and light polluted skies in England, I love seeing the Milky Way from my backyard and even better when remote camping. I bought my first proper camera for a planned Vic High country trip to try and capture some that. That trip unfortunately got cancelled (Bush Fires) and the Simpson Desert trip in July will almost certainly not happen.

I have been practicing taking shots in the yard during lock-down, initially with 24 mm wide shots of the Milky way, then spotted some colour and trying to zoom in tighter, tighter=shorter exposure, shorter=fainter, fainter try stacking, DSS, download photoshop, lots of youtube tutorials...

From thinking I'd like to get milky way time-lapse video over the top of a high country hut, I'm now hunting for good wide field targets for my 135mm lens which led me to astrobin.

I'm having fun and enjoying the process.

The pics on here are amazing.

Clear Skies
