Hi there, I'm Peter. Jumped across into the parallel universe of no sleep 12 months ago with a complete lack of understanding on how long things take to capture and process because I am a lot less smarter than I thought I was. Purchased all the right bits I think, now just have to make them all work properly. Have tried every way except the right way to get EQMOD to talk between the laptop and mount for guiding. I still rely on the ST4 on camera facility through PHD2 as this is the only method to work for me - getting sub 0.3 arcsec results with proper setting up. Have just learned how to polar align with SharpCap Pro and loving it. My background says astro-things should be a lot easier than what they are ... but what do I know. Came here for the inspiration and there is plenty of it.

Hi Peter,
Welcome (or welcome back) to the world of astronomical insomniacs. I (Steve) use PHD2 for guiding a Starlight Xpress Lodestar X2 with terrific results. I normally shoot with a QSI 683 wsg CCD and filters, but also have a ZWO ASI183 MC Pro that I use on an 80mm refractor. Sounds like you're getting all the bugs worked through, and we'll be seeing images from you soon.

Take care, and shoot any questions this way!
