Hello i’ve got a celestron c8 edge hd and an altair 102/710 for the Time i’m using a NikonD810A this camera is very nice to use but pixels are very small... i’ m considering to buy a ccd camera with bigger size pixel Atik 11000 with 9 nm pixel or Atik 16200 with 6nm pixel size the qhy 128 c is a CMOS with 6nmpixel seems nice also i will enjoy your advice about that anyway it will be color camera and not mono camera because i ve to move to take picture each night thanks |

| The big pixels are really good to have in C8, but the corrected FoV is only size of APS-C so you must crop a lot in fullframe sensors like in Atik 11000 or in Atik 16200. Atik 4000 fits better, however it is an older type. I personally use AtikOne6 wit C8 and it is not that bad, but far from optimal. Binnig helps. |

Personally I would choose a CCD instead of a CMOS. The QHY128C uses the same sensor used in Nikon D600-610-750. Do you really want another DSLR? CCD works at 16bits (instead of 14). Be careful also on the full well capacity. In CMOS you have a wonderful value in tech sheet, but raising the gain the FWC drops and you get everything burnt go for 16200!! |
