Hello friends. I am based in N. Calif and amm new to astrophotography. Still learning the ropes and looking for advice and suggestions. I do have Pentax K1-II (with built-in astro tracer) and a few good lenses. Unfortunately the "dark" skies are a bit far from where I live.

Welcome! There are a lot of white skies out there, and a lot of successful images from under city lights! There are even some groups here with photos taken from urban settings. Check them out for inspiration!

Yes, hang in there... look into narrow band filters to clip into your system. They make them for Canon and Nikon.
