Description

This concludes the small test series of my new Esprit 100ED, including:
Firstlight ESPRIT 100ED @ M101 Pinwheel Galaxy and Supernova SN2022hrs in NGC4647.

From now on it will be serious with the Esprit 100ED

Posting the Leo Triplet at this time of year is perhaps a bit late. But since I was born under the sign of Leo - and Leo starts July 23 -, I dare to post the Leo Triplet still in July

The M66 group, also known as the Leo Triplet, is a small group of galaxies in the constellation Leo. It is located about 35 million light-years away.
The galaxy group contains Messier 65 and 66, as well as the spiral galaxy NGC 3628. It is often listed as a subgroup (Arp 317) of the Leo I group. Halton Arp divided his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy triplet belongs to the class Groups of galaxies.
