Description

After capturing the conjunction, the waxing moon was a good target. The lighting and contrast along the terminator makes this an endlessly fascinating object for any aspiring ‘lunatics’. I tend to be rather opportunistic, and must take more time to explore and appreciate our nearest natural satellite.

Theophilus with its grand central peak is obvious to the right of centre, bordering mare Nectaris, and the sea of Tranquility emerging from the gloom; hopefully we all will, as the vaccine rolls out and puts an end to this pandemic.

Captured in Envisage using a 2 x Barlow and myZenithstar II 80ED, 25 x 0.2926s frames were stacked, aligned and a median edge filter automatically applied.
