Description

My galaxy collection would not be complete without M110 I guess, it being a Messier Object and all. This image was taken with a 4 inch scope shooting at a focal length of 318mm. I made an effort to bring out structures in the disc, though the core itself is lacking discernible features. Dust lanes of M32 can be seen at upper right and the bridge betwen the two galaxies is faintly visible.

It amazes me just how fine details can be on our little sensors. Its strange to think that the dimmest, smallest feature of an image would appear identical on every sensor if every square inch of the Earth's surface that had line of sight to the target had a camera (and telescope) imaging the object. And that is true for every target in ANY direction with cameras placed EVERYWHERE (with line of sight). So space around you is in reality filled with photons all streaming toward an infinite number of things that are seen by any living thing, or recorded by any apparatus (or are just bound to be absorbed or reflected or refracted). One can quickly discern that there is no point that does not have a photon. If photons were like water, we would all be floating in a vast 3 dimensional ocean!
