Description

After an interruption due to the team's holidays we resume our publications and this time a great classic: M20.
M20, located in Sagittarius and therefore visible from both hemispheres, also called Trifid (or clover) Nebula presents itself as a flower in buds with 3 lobes. It is a region of stars formation.
It presents us with a nebulous part by emission (pink-red part) with the Hydrogen mission, a nebula part in reflection (blue) resulting from the reflection of starlight by the surrounding dust, dark parts of dense dust clouds that appear in bands that separate it into three lobes, and in the middle we find a triple star system whose third component is difficult to isolate.
It is located about 4600 Light-years away and is almost as large as the full moon but not visible to the naked eye.
We offer it in HaR-G-OIIIB mode as well as in HSORGB version (version A under astrobin) where we find that the weak external extensions are more discernible.
