      Description

      This is a mosaic of 28 panels taken with a 180mm lens, over 10 nights between April and August 2015. The lens aperture is wide-open. There are large overlaps between the 28 mosaic panels, so the final FOV of this image is probably only slightly larger than a 2x2 mosaic making with a 180mm lens. The total exposure of the 28 panels is about 24 hr.

      This image taken at 180mm was used as a reference to model the background in the mosaic panels of this 500mm one:

      Without this 180mm mosaic, the 500mm one was not possible.

      For fun, I also uploaded a version with no stars (Rev. H) created with starnet++. You can better see the nebulas in this version.

      Rev. I is a reprocessing in 2020, with nebulas enhanced using the starless version.

      The original image has more than 200 mega pixels. The versions uploaded here are 50% reductions.
