Description

Imaged the northeastern quadrant of the first quarter moon (45.8% illuminated)  in this long focal length panorama captured the evening of July 16, 2021 (July 17th in UTC).  The seeing and transparency were excellent this night and I ended up with some of my best 'hi-res'  lunar imaging results.  This is a local crop from the overall panorama.  Mare Frigoris runs through the north of the image, with prominent craters Aristoteles and Eudoxus to the east, and the famous Alpine Valley to the west.

Imaged with a C8 Evo, ZWO ADC, Baader 685nm IR pass filter, and ZWO ASI174MM. Imaging train was configured to give ~F/20 (~0.18 arcsec/pixel). Image capture using Firecapture with gain set at 250 and an exposure of 12.5 ms. Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 25% of 1000 frames). Overall panorama generated from 26 panels using Microsoft Image Explorer. Wavelet sharpening and histogram adjustment in Registax6.
