Description

CG4 is a ruptured Cometary Globule 1300 light years away in Puppis.
Cometary globules are typically characterized by dusty heads and elongated tails. These features cause cometary globules to have visual different. Globules are frequently the birthplaces of stars, and many show very young stars in their heads. This globule is unusual as the head has ruptured.
The galaxy PGC 21338 is located 145 million light years away,  the lining up is an illusion! Too out of reach for  Cometary Globule!

Imaged in LRGB on the  Planewave CDK 1000 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
