Description

Skies are cloudy and it's raining....

While rain drops kept falling on my roof I remembered that I had an old M27 on my HDD from last year which I captured during full moon, one of those images taken as a skyhook... at least offering practice :-)

Practice was the motivating keyword so, I decided to gain some practice in image processing and this OSC image was split into its descrete R, G and B channels which were treated separately and finally rejoined together. The result is much better than the original one from one year ago. So, I'm happy (while I'm afraid that M27 is going to be neglected by me again this season... maybe not. I'll see... ;)

Clear skies!

Description: I tried to "post colimate" the star colors that experienced an offset somehow. I found a more or less constant offset in the whole image so, I used PI's ChannelMatch to do this. It "kind of" worked in way. It could have perfomed better if I have had an eye for it in a very early state of the processing workflow, I guess. The "cloudyness" of the nebula itself was actually the unexpected winner of the trial ... lol :-)
And I made another experiment and tried to increase the transparency of M27 and pronounce more the property of a "glowing" gas ball instead of a flat something hanging in space... to me it looks more transparent now without losing brightness resp visibility. It however, was a helpful piece of practice, hopefully helping me for my current project (cat's eye)....
