Description

There's a lot of data here but that bright central star and the massive amount of flare it produced made this a challenge to process.

Here's how I processed it:

Lum:
dynamic crop
deconvolution
DBE
histogram transformation

RGB
channel combination (RGB)
DBE
PCC
histogram transformation
LRGBCombination (bringing in Lum)
TGV Denoise
histogram transformation with mask to bring down halo slightly
curves for contrast
SCNR to pull out some green in the corner
EZ Star Reduction

The workflow below is for revision A.

Lum:
dynamic crop
deconvolution
DBE
histogram transformation

Each R, G and B
dynamic crop

RGB
channel combination (RGB)
DBE
PCC
histogram transformation
LRGBCombination (bringing in Lum)
TGV Denoise
over in photoshop did three rounds of dehaze in camera raw plus some exposure tweaks
back in PI
some contrast adjustments with curves
EZ Star Reduction

The dehaze in photoshop really brought out the reddish brown in the image. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it. but hopefully it will grow on me. I'm not sure if this is a case where some shorter exposures and combining would help alleviate the halos...I suspect not but it would be interesting to try. An experiment for another time though.
